Welcome to TalePaws. By using our service, you agree to these terms. They are short and written in plain language.

1. The service

TalePaws lets you create a memorial for a beloved pet, have AI-powered conversations in their voice, receive letters, and share public tributes. The service is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

2. AI-generated content

Conversations and letters are AI-generated simulations. They are provided for comfort, reflection and remembrance. In line with the EU AI Act, AI output is clearly disclosed. AI can make mistakes; treat its words as a gentle memory, not as factual, medical, or professional guidance. For serious emotional distress, please reach out to a licensed grief counsellor or a local helpline.

3. Your content

• You keep full ownership of the memories, photos, and text you upload.
• You grant TalePaws a limited licence to store and display your content so we can operate the service.
• If you make a memorial, letter, or message public, it can be viewed by anyone who has the link.
• Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.

4. Free usage and membership

• The free plan includes a limited number of AI messages per day (10) and letters per month (2).
• TalePaws Plus is a monthly membership ($4.99/month) that unlocks unlimited usage while active.
• TalePaws Forever is a one-time payment ($49) that unlocks unlimited usage permanently.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Per applicable consumer law (including EU and UK regulations), you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase if you have not used the paid features.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use TalePaws to impersonate living people, spread harmful or unlawful content, abuse the AI, attempt to disrupt the service, or circumvent usage limits.

6. Availability

We aim to keep TalePaws online around the clock, but the service may be interrupted for maintenance or due to events outside our control. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TalePaws is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "last updated" date.
